"Small is Beautiful" movie download Giveaway!
If you haven't yet seen Jeremy Beasley's "Small is Beautiful" tiny house documentary, well, now might be your chance! I have one free download I'm giving away to the lucky winner of this simple little giveaway.
This film is not just pretty pictures of tiny houses or a how-to building guide. Rather it's a fantastic, honest, emotional ride, following several Portland residents as they endeavor to build their own tiny houses. It's REAL, folks, and a great thing to watch if you are thinking to take this path yourself!
Here's how to enter (it's super simple!)
First, make sure you're signed up for our mailing list below:
If you've signed up in the past, you don't need to sign up again.
Second, you must share this page on your favorite social media site (Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest)

ALSO, please let me know what topics you'd like me to cover in future blog posts here on the tiny project blog.
I know: 3 steps is a pain! But it really only takes 15 seconds. Do it now and this movie could be yours!
Selecting a winner
One week from today, on Friday, June 12th, one winner will be randomly picked from all those who have met all three of the above requirements. I will contact the winner via email and will send the free download link to that person immediately.
Proof positive: https://www.facebook.com/eric.sleeper.98. And the winner is?? Future topics? Tiny homes and the law. Great that everyone is dreaming about THs, designing (in their heads or on paper), and, possibly, building. But, at the end of the day, in order to move into them you still need to be comfortable that "the law" (usually local) will allow you to reside in your dream and I keep seeing more and more dreamers wondering aloud where they can find that answer.

I am very interested in the self-sufficiency aspect, such as water catchment systems, generators, solar panels, etc. and how they fit on or in the tiny home, and how to make it all work together without being overwhelming.

I love tiny houses! It borders an obsession. I look at tiny home blue prints for fun & dream of the day I will have my own. ❤️ the site!!!

I'd like to see more posts about design decisions -- x kind of roof gets you more space, but y kind of roof sheds water better. That sort of thing. I'd like to hear details about particular construction problems that most tiny housers will face. Great site. Thanks!
I currently have a small house being planned but it is still not small enough...I want to see your film to see where we can go lower like in a limbo dance..
I would like an overview of the building codes and the basic ones that affect tiny houses.
Congrats, Owen! You're the winner of the free movie download. I'm sending you an email right now with the download link. Enjoy!
Well.. love the movement looking for more ideas on how best to make the transition, and how and where to best keep the toys..:-) we get to keep the toys right.?. I like my bicycles, motorcycles, beach stuff, kayak .etc. I don't care about the clothes, household items etc...
just wondering... We have been so inspired and everyone in our family has really purged a lot of stuff the past 2 years... looking forward to being able to really go all the Way someday!
I'd love to hear more about artists that live in tiny spaces.
I shared the post on the new Facebook page I started a few months ago called Tiny Living in a Big World.
I would like to see and I've seen a lot of interest in more ways that we can get city, county, or state officials to change rules to allow tiny house owners to be able to find more places to stay or live.
This is the link for my personal 'vacation on wheels' board, on my upcoming businesses Pinterest page.
I love tiny homes. I would love to know more about starting out on having a specialty one built; best 'off grid' components; storage and towing options and laws/codes. Also, best places to travel/live with one.
Tweeted the page! https://twitter.com/JJGPiano/status/607435386344775681
I would like hearing about the various artists! Thank you!
I'd really love to hear more about how/where to look for repurposed building materials, particularly wood. Every area is different, but are there any usual companies that will give away (or sell cheaply) unusedraw materials like that? Or is it better to just scavenge on roadsides and abandoned properties..?
I also second the comments requesting more 'law' issues people may have. It's near impossible for a layperson (at least for me) to dig through and decipher the laws regarding building codes and utilities in each particular state/county. Do you know of any databases or something to make the search easier?
Lastly, I'd love to see an in depth plumbing/circuitry article and creative options for outlet locations/types.
I would love to see more about self-sufficiency and how you can do with with a budget.
Just found your web site tonight and LOVE it! I see that you cover so many catagories. I am interested in learning how to affordably begin building my tiny house a little at a time while still paying the mortgage on my full size home Another issue I never see addressed on videos is how to deal with the paperwork/files every house collects. Thanks so much

Love the site! I'm interested in the idea of tiny house communities. I would like to study them, once more come into existence!
I reposted to my facebook page. something that I have not seen in any of the TV shows or the books that I have purchased about tiny homes is retrofitting a tiny home for people with disabilities. I have a lot of ideas about this, and I can see many senarios where it could be needed.
I unfortunately do not participate in any of the mentioned social media sites. However, I have been subscribed to your website for some time & like it. Thank you for all the great information. My sister & I have been looking in to tiny house living, however, it's been a challenge in a community where it does not really exist.
