Stay at this beautiful small house in the Hawaiian rainforrest!

Shared by Shannon Victoria Mackey

Small but mightily beautiful, this tiny house of 300 sq. feet is not only built in the rainforest on the side of an active Hawaiian Volcano, but it sits 10 feet off the ground allowing the perfect vantage point into the surrounding native flora.

The house was built to code, is fixed to the land and uses a water catchment with a sophisticated purification system and natural gas instant water heater.

However, it’s the physical design that is the most eye-catching. The floor to ceiling windows draw in the natural light and allow for viewing the colorful birds flitting from tree to tree, or the clouds rolling in from the coast.

Once inside, the glass French door entry, vaulted wood ceiling, hardwood floors, quartz countertops, custom cabinetry, large shower with louver windows, large rain showerhead, and colorful midcentury tropical décor provide an incredible feeling of comfort and luxury.

Under the tree cottage, you’ll find a lounge area for enjoying your morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings.

This little tree cottage is a slice of heaven! And, it’s on Airbnb on a nightly basis. If you’ve ever wanted to visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, you’ll find this treasure just a few minute drive from the entrance to the park.
